Episode 1: अंजू और नग़मा के सपनों का सफर
सपने तो बहुत हैं लेकिन पूरे कुछ ही होते हैं। इसका मतलब ये बिलकुल नहीं है कि आप सपने देखना ही छोड़ दें। जब सपनों की वो दुनिया आंखों के सामने सच होती हुई दिखती है तो वह एहसास अलग ही होता है।
ऐसे ही सपने हैं अंजू और नग़मा के।
अंजू और नग़मा है तो बुंदेलखंड में एक ही शहर की, लेकिन उनकी कहानी अलग है। एक दलित परिवार से आने वाली अंजू का सपना है कि वो डॉक्टर बने I लेकिन आर्थिक स्थिति की वजह से अंजू के लिए डॉक्टर बनने जैसे सपना देखना एक बहुत बड़ी बात है। दूसरी तरफ नग़मा की कक्षा 10 के बाद ही पढ़ाई छूट गई। नग़मा हीरोइन बनना चाहती है। इस एपिसोड में, अंजू और नग़मा की कहानी सुनकर यह पता चलेगा कि लड़कियों के सपने चाहे कितने भी अलग हो, मुश्किलें सब के रास्ते में आती हैं, जो कि समाज की असमानता का आइना हमारे सामने रख देती हैं।
Young people have a lot of dreams. Yet, not every dream comes true. Nevertheless, the feeling of dreams turning to reality is a surreal one.
Anju and Nagma have dreams too.
Both are residents of the same town in Bundelkhand, but their stories cannot be more different. Anju, who belongs to a Dalit family, wants to become a doctor but her family’s financial situation does not allow her to. Nagma, who had to quit school after her father died, wants to become an actress. This episode, which follows the dreams and aspirations of Anju and Nagma, mirrors existing and rising inequality in the society.
Episode 2: दो दोस्त: दीपक और हिमांशु
दीपक और हिमांशु उत्तर प्रदेश के बुंदेलखंड में रहने वाले दो दोस्त हैं। दोनों की आर्थिक स्तिथि बचपन में एक सी थी। लेकिन वक्त और हालात के साथ उसमें बदलाव आया। दीपक 21 साल का है और महीने के दस हज़ार रुपय कमाता है । वह बीएससी के फ़ाइनल यर का छात्र है। वहीं बीस साल का हिमांशु प्राइवट से बीए कर रहा है। उसको अपने पिता की बिगड़ती तबियत और घर में आर्थिंक तंगी के कारण स्कूल की पढ़ाई बीच में ही छोड़नी पड़ी । अब वह मकैनिक का काम करके अपने घर को चलाता है।
आज दीपक एक टीचर बनना चाहता है और हिमांशु एक अच्छे ऑफ़िस में जॉब करने की आकांक्षा रखता है। जहाँ दीपक अपने भविष्य को लेकर आशावान है तो वहीं हिमांशु के सपने अनिश्च्ता के बादलों से घिरे हुए हैं। इस एपिसोड में हम देखेंगे कि बदलते हालात दोस्ती और जिंदगियों में कितने बड़े बदलाव ले आते हैं।
Deepak and Himanshu are two friends who live in UP’s Bundelkhand. Both had similar financial status as children but their situation drastically changed with time. Deepak is 21 years old and earns INR 10,000 per month. He is also in the final year of BSc. Meanwhile, Himanshu (20) is pursuing BA from private. He had to abandon school and work as a mechanic to support his family after his father had to stop work due to illness.
Today Deepak wants to be a teacher and Himanshu aspires to have a good office job. While Deepak is hopeful about his future, Himanshu’s dreams are shrouded with uncertainty. This episode we examine how unforseen circumstances can drastically change the trajectories of two friends who otherwise led a similar life.
Episode 3: Monika Banegi Designer
“फैशन डिजाइनिंग की इस चमकती-धमकती दुनिया को देख कर तो लगता है कि छोटे शहर में रहने वाले लोग कहां ऐसे सपने देखते होंगे, यह तो बड़े शहरों की बात है। लेकिन, मोनिका ऐसा नहीं सोचती है। मोनिका ना सिर्फ फैशन डिजाइनर बनने का सपना देखती है बल्कि उसे पूरा करने के लिए अपने कदम आगे बढ़ाए जा रही है। इस बीच वह अपने पिता की पारिवारिक जिम्मेदारियों में भी मदद करती है और वहीँ घर के काम में मां का हाथ भी बँटाती है।
मोनिका अपनी पढाई भी पूरी कर रही है और साथ में सिलाई का काम भी करती है। दो बड़ी बहनें है जो दिल्ली में काम करती है। तीनों बहनें मिलकर समाज की पितृसत्तात्मक सोच को तोड़ते हुए अपना घर चलाते हैं। मोनिका ना सिर्फ बड़े सपने देखती है बल्कि उन्हें पूरा करने का जज्बा भी रखती है।

The glitz and glamour of the fashion industry often makes one think that only people living in big cities dream of being a part of it. But, Monica thinks differently. Not only does she dream of becoming a fashion designer, but is also actively working to fulfill her aspiration. In addition to this, she shares the financial burden of running a household with her father, and helps her mother with the daily household chores .
Monica is completing her studies and is simultaneously pursuing her passion of tailoring clothes through a home-run enterprise. She has two sisters who are older than her and live in Delhi. Together they are breaking the shackles of patriarchy, that girls often find themselves bound by, by running their house. Monica not only dreams big but has the courage and the vigour to achieve them.”
Episode 4: Bihar se Durham: Shakila ki Udaan
“Meet Shakila, a bright young woman from the most backward Nat community in Bihar, who has big dreams for herself. She dreams of working for the betterment of the Nat community. Her right to dream is important because only 5% girls from the Nat community are able to complete their education. The landless nomadic community earns a living through street performance art and has high rates of child marriage.
Shakeela beat the odds and undertook an inspiring journey from Araria, Bihar, to Durham University in England.
Shakeela was married as a child and escaped her abusive marriage. She then went on to build a fulfilling life for herself. To know more about her inspiring journey, listen to our latest episode of the podcast series Sapnon ka Haq.
मिलिए शकीला से जो बिहार के सबसे पिछड़े नट समुदाय से तालुक रखती हैं। वो नट समुदाय की तरक़्क़ी के लिए काम करने की इच्छा रखती हैं। उनका सपनों का हक़ इसलिए भी ज़रूरी है क्यूँकि नट समुदाय की केवल 5% लड़कियाँ ही पढ़ाई पूरी कर पाती हैं। यह बंजारा समुदाय अपना गुज़ारा सड़कों पर खेल दिखाकर अपनी रोज़ी कमाता है। इस समुदाय में बाल विवाह के आँकड़े काफ़ी ज़्यादा हैं।
लेकिन शकीला ने सारी चुनौतियों के बावजूद बिहार से एंगलड की दरहम यूनिवर्सिटी तक का एक अद्भुत सफ़र तय किया।
शकीला की शादी छोटी उम्र में ही करा दी गयी। उन्होंने काफ़ी मुश्किलों के बाद अपने अत्याचारपूर्ण वैवाहिक जीवन से पीछा छुड़ाया। उन्होंने अपने लिए एक ऐसी ज़िंदगी संवारी जिसमें वो अपनी सारी अपेक्षाएं पूरी कर पायीं। उनके जीवन के बारे में और जानने के लिए सुनिए हमारे पॉड्कास्ट सिरीज़ सपनों का हक़ का नया एपिसोड।”
Episode 5: Mission Sangeet: Suman Baudh
“Meet 19 year old Suman from Pindohri, a small village in Uttar Pradesh’s Mau district. She’s the leader of a group for young girls which spreads awareness about domestic violence and gender discrimination among people in the village. An extraordinary singer, Suman, uses music to inspire social change. She is a proponent of Mission Sangeet- a genre of music to inspire young people to work towards their goals and Ambedkar Sangeet– based on the life of Dr. Ambedkar spreading the word about equality and constitutional values.
मिलिए 19 साल की समान से जो उत्तर प्रदेश के माउ ज़िला के पिंदोहरि गाँव की रहने वाली हैं। वो अपने गाँव की किशोरियों के दल की लीडर हैं जिसके माध्यम से वह महिलाओं के खिलाफ हो रही घरेलु हिंसा और जेंडर डिस्क्रिमिनेशन को लेकर लोगो को जागरूक करती हैं I सुमन मिशन संगीत की एक अध्विकता हैं – संगीत की एक ऐसे शैली जिसके ज़रिए वो यंग लोगों को अपने सपनों और लक्ष्य को पूरा करने की प्रेरणा देती हैं। इसी के साथ साथ वो अम्बेडकर गीत के सहारे लोगों तक बाबासाहेब अम्बेडकर के जीवन, समानता और संवैधानिक मूल्यों की बातें पहुँचाती हैं।”
Episode 6: Do Khilaadi: Meera aur Rajnandini
Young girls living in Uttar Pradesh are using sports to exercise their agency and assert control over life choices. In the final episode of our podcast series ‘Sapnon ka Haq’, join us as we travel to Uttar Pradesh to meet two talented and young sportswomen. Meera, 18, an aspiring international cricketer, and Rajnandini, 21, a state-level athlete, who have fought against all odds to fulfil thir dream of playing sports. Being relentless in the pursuit of their dreams, Meera and Rajnandini have become inspirations for many girls in their villages. Apart from being a career prospect, sports has also proven to be an effective vehicle of social change for the communities to which these girls belong. These girls have been able to reverse unfavourable gender stereotypes through the help of organisations like PANI (People’s Action for National Integration) that empower these girls by giving them the required training to enhance their skills. We also speak to Sima Verma, member of PANI’s managerial team, to understand how sports engenders changes in people’s attitude and promotes gender equality.
