Rising Caesarean Births Increase Inequity For Women Among Different Social Groups

Caesarean births are on the rise in  almost all Indian states, according to latest available data from the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5). In the southern state of Telangana, 60% of all births are caesarean deliveries.
